The task:
Create a song where distortion plays a key role.

You may not think much about the distortion, but it does play a key role. Just listen how two notes played together sounds different from the sum of those two notes. A classic test for non-linearity, i.e distortion!

Distortion surely is a wonderful thing, I created a quite simple ambient track with different noises more or less heavily distorted. Beside Cubase standard distortion plug-ins personal favourite plug-in Glitch was used to distort sounds (despite that it has no real distortion, I played around with it until it produced some kind of fake distortion). In fact, it turned out to be one of my favourite tracks so far.

A non finished minimal track with a lot of creative use of distortion. The track was performed live at the dogma gathing since it was not even rendered for the occation.

Ableton live running Operator, with the kind addition of Chimera from Majken as the lead.

A happy uptempo track with lots of Reason. I think there is distorsion on two thirds of the sounds, but its mainly evident in the drums and the bass sounds. I don’t normally use distorsion in my tracks and it was a somewhat challenging task for me to incorporate it in a natural way.

The contribution by J really blows my brain out with the low semi-melodic bass sounds. And that’s a good thing!
Thanks, even though this one focuses just a bit too much in the area from -50 to 50 MHz.
